New Adobe AI sandboxes.
Adobe is offering the ability to use AI to interact only with the data you have put into a private folder. It means teachers and students could use AI that is kept separate from and uncontaminated by the World Wide Web. Adobe Acrobat Spaces could be a game-changer for teachers who wish to engage with AI and remain in charge of the data it uses.
Here is a podcast exploring the current political dissonance between the government’s current aspirations for a workforce confidently and capably using AI and education’s reluctance to adapt examinations to allow students to use AI and so gain the experience they need. It was created via Adobe Acrobat using an Adobe AI Assistant referencing only documents such as HMI and Government papers and reports which had been entered into a sandboxed folder.
Here is another podcast generated from a post. ‘A Grown Up Position‘ published on ‘Artteachingstuff’. It explores how Art Schools can embrace AI. In each case the podcast was generated entirely by the Adobe AI assistant from the specified and preordained data. What is interesting is that for some students an audio presentation may be far more affective than a written one. This is a new opportunity to explore how technology and AI can make a difference to education. As always whether it makes a difference is entirely up to the teacher. But Adobe Spaces will probably pass the test that school policies will demand for safe access by students.
